On September 24, 2014, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit affirmed in all respects a jury verdict for Robbins Russell client TD Bank. Banker Vernon W. Hill, II, had sued the bank alleging that it owed him a multi-million-dollar “golden parachute” payment after he was dismissed from his post as CEO of TD’s predecessor. The Third Circuit agreed that TD Bank was legally prohibited from making the payment. Mark Stancil argued the case for TD Bank, with Joshua Bolian on the brief.
