On August 3, 2017, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals held, in Buchanan v. United States, No. 15-CM-356, that firm client Antwan Buchanan should have received evidence that the government failed to produce before his trial for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. The Court remanded Mr. Buchanan’s case to the Superior Court for further proceedings.
This was Robbins Russell’s second victory in as many weeks before the D.C. Court of Appeals. Donald Burke argued the appeal, joined on the briefs by Matthew Madden. Robbins Russell was appointed to represent Mr. Armstrong on appeal pursuant to the Criminal Justice Act.
