Matt is an appellate and trial lawyer whose practice focuses on high-stakes appeals and complex financial and securities litigation. This past year, Matt argued and won Harris v. Viegelahn in the U.S. Supreme Court, while also defending a securities class action, achieving the favorable resolution of a significant breach-of-contract action, and representing a major accounting firm in an SEC investigation. Matt joined the firm in 2008, after serving as a law clerk for the Hon. Stephen F. Williams of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. He earned his law and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Virginia, and is a native of Watertown, Massachusetts.
